Company Name: MEDIA CONNECT
Description: MEDIA CONNECT, a division of Finn Partners and a leader in the media placement field, is seeking publicity interns for the Fall Semester.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
Publicity interns are offered the chance to participate at an assistant level vs. an intern level. We encourage you to take on responsibilities and handle work as you are able and interested. This is not a copy-making, coffee-fetching position.

The Interactive intern should be a creative, fast-thinker with strong written and verbal skills, an understanding of social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter, and should also be familiar with blogs/blogging. The Interactive intern will learn about and assist in coordinating blogger outreach.

Responsibilities include:
* Working one-on-one with the media.
* Researching & compiling media lists.
* Phone/Email pitching.
* Arranging media interviews.
* Writing press materials.
* Assembling client updates.
* Working with publicists of all levels, including the managing director of the company. (Each intern will be assigned a mentor, someone who will guide you through the internship and supply answers to all your questions.)
* Working with some of the biggest publishing houses in New York.
* MEDIA CONNECT will provide you with thorough training and an understanding of how to handle media relations through a first-day, all-day orientation, workshops, and hands-on experience.
* Working on a mix of topics including: Politics, Celebrity, Cooking, Family & Parenting, Health & Fitness, Business & Finance, and Fiction.

Length of Internship: End of January until Mid May(Spring Semester)
Requirements: WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
MEDIA CONNECT is looking for applicants with strong written and verbal skills, who are able to receive school credit. A major in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or English is preferred.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
All applicants must still be in school. This internship is paid, and the experience you will gain, along with the opportunity to include Finn Partners on your resume is extremely valuable.
