Company Name: DON CONGDON ASSOCIATES, INC.
Description: Don Congdon Associates is seeking an intern who is detail-oriented and well-read in contemporary titles to work with one of its agents who works remotely. Responsibilities include evaluating client and potential client manuscripts and query letters in genres and ages ranging from literary fiction, narrative non-fiction, middle grade, and young adult. Classes and independent projects will be assigned based on ability and interest (including publishing contracts, author marketing, and client/editor research).

Don Congdon Associates, established in 1983, represents a wide variety of genres including literary fiction, mystery/thrillers, women's fiction, humor, history, and biography/memoir. Many of the agency's authors have won numerous awards, including the Pulitzer Prize, George Polk Award, the National Book Award, James Thurber Prize, the Edgar Award, the National Book Foundation's medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters, and the National Medal of the Arts. This is an exciting opportunity to work with well-known and current New York Times bestselling authors.
Length of Internship: January through May
Requirements: We are looking for someone who has confidence in their reading ability, will take initiative, and can represent the agency professionally. The position is for two full days per week.
