Company Name: BLOOMSBURY PUBLISHING
Description: Bloomsbury Academic Publishing (formerly Continuum) is seeking an editorial intern for the Fall 2019 semester. We are a publisher of academic and trade titles located in Midtown/Herald Square. We commission in a broad range of subject areas, including Literary Studies, Music, Film, and Visual Arts.
As a small team, our interns are a key part of our day-to-day operations. As a Bloomsbury Academic editorial intern, you will work with the Editorial team on a variety of projects that reflect the diverse aspects of academic and trade publishing, including:

• Complete course, academic, and picture research
• Contribute content to our various list-centric blogs
• Manage departmental shipping
• Manage submissions to the Cataloging-in-Publication and Library of Congress programs
• Update data systems as needed
• Complete various administrative tasks

Opportunities to take on other editorial projects may also arise.
Length of Internship: September 3, 2019 - December 20, 2019
Requirements: We are looking for a creative and motivated individual, who ideally has the following skills:

• High level of familiarity with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Firm grasp of grammar and spelling, with a keen eye for detail
• Ability to work efficiently and independently
• Strong communication skills in a fast-paced professional environment

We require a commitment of 20-30 hours per week (Monday through Friday, 9 AM – 3:30 PM) for the entire internship term. Scheduling is flexible.
Location: New York, NY

Payment: This position pays minimum wage ($15.00/hour), and candidates may wish to arrange for college credit for the placement to supplement.
