Interns will work closely and thoughtfully with a variety of our agents on upcoming and current projects (fiction and nonfiction for children and adults), learning how to write a pitch letter; read a royalty statement, collaboration agreement, agency agreement, and contract; craft a submission list; use basic html; evaluate a query; build their own platform; learn the basics of office systems; and hone professional communication skills. Responsibilities include: reading manuscripts and proposals, writing reader’s reports, reading and learning how to respond to unsolicited submissions, providing editorial feedback on client proposals and manuscripts. By the end of the internship, interns will have a broad understanding of agenting as well as an overview on the many possible careers available in publishing.
Length of Internship: Internships are remote and will be part time for two months.
Requirements: Great communication skills, enthusiasm, a desire to learn about the industry, and love of books and reading. No previous experience or academic credentials required.

Payment: This position is remote, and will be paid $15/hour, part-time (15 hours a week) for two months with a flexible schedule.
