What will I be doing?

As the Engagement Manager for Metadata & Content at ProQuest, you will be serve as a subject matter expert through your deep knowledge of the publishing marketplace and metadata standards. In this mission critical role, you will use your expertise to grow the quantity and quality of ProQuest title submissions.

In this position, you will also...

Maintain a high level of communication with key accounts and proactively work to ensure delivery of content to meet their needs.

Build relationships with publishing partners in order to improve the breadth and quality of metadata and content for ProQuest customers.

Share knowledge of metadata and bibliographic standards with publisher partners and our ProQuest content team.

Apply industry knowledge to internal process improvement.

Employ excellent written and verbal communication skills to accomplish all goals and responsibilities.
Requirements: Qualified Candidates must have…

Bachelors’ degree in related field, such as English, plus at least 5 years’ related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Client-oriented work ethic and ability to foster a sense of teamwork across all members of the team.

Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and across functional groups to support department goals and meet aggressive schedules.

Ability to work with industry-wide organizations often made up of volunteers.

Proven leadership and technical skills and the ability to motivate team members.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Experience with marketing software such as surveys, social media, and online presentations.

Attention to detail and accuracy while managing a high volume workload.

Ability to learn quickly and efficiently within an environment of changing priorities.

Excellent researching and problem solving and troubleshooting skills, including the ability to analyze, compare, evaluate, reconcile and order data.

Ability to create appropriate written documentation such as problem statements, white papers, marketing informational materials, and presentations.

Aptitude for metadata standards and issues, electronic resource management, and emerging technologies.

Project management skills and experience with excellent follow-through on commitments.

Superstar Candidates will ALSO have…

Working knowledge of a variety of metadata standards (e.g. MARC, ONIX, OAI-PMH, MODS, XML, Dublin Core, AACR2/RDA, etc.), as well as understanding of controlled vocabularies, thesauri, and taxonomies.

Capacity to learn and master new technology.

Masters’ degree in Library Science or Publishing.

Fluency in languages other than English.
XML, HTML, and SGML skills.
