Organization Name: Association of American Publishers (AAP)
Description: AAP mandates both the general and specific broad issues important to all publishers as well as issues of specific concern to particular segments of the industry. The Association's core programs deal with the matters f general interested: intellectual property, new technology an telecommunications issues concerning publishers; First Amendment rights, censorship, libel; international freedom to publish; funding for education and libraries; postal rates and regulations; tax and trade policy. Directed by standing committees of the Association, these programs, along with a host of membership services including government affairs, a broad-based statistical program, public information and press relations, are the "core" activates of the Association.
Membership Requirements: Regular Membership in the Association is open to all U.S. companies actively engaged in the publication of books, journals, loose-leaf services, computer software, audiovisual materials, databases and other electronic products such as CD-ROM and CD-I, and similar products for educational, business and personal use.
Dues/Fees: Dues are assessed on the basis of annual sales revenue from the print and electronic products listed above, but not from services or equipment.
