Company Name: FINEPRINT LITERARY MGMT.
Description: Peter Rubie, CEO and senior agent of FinePrint Literary Management, is seeking an intern who will work personally with him. Duties include reading slush, evaluating requested submissions, writing readers reports, and general agency/office tasks. Outstanding opportunity to experience and learn many aspects of publishing including professional editing and copyediting for the right candidate.

An avid interest in the publishing industry, and a determination to land an entry level job in the industry a MUST. Applicants need to be READY TO READ. Seeking someone who reads commercial fiction and nonfiction. Interest in social media and marketing and publicity a plus!

The intern will work closely with the above agents and learn about the publishing process. Duties will include reading and evaluating submissions, writing readers reports, and performing general administrative tasks. The intern will also be invited to attend readings, panels, and other industry-related events.
Length of Internship: 3-4 months.
Requirements: Ideal applicants will have an avid interest in the publishing industry, a working knowledge of frontlist fiction and nonfiction (bestseller top 100 books), and a strong familiarity with various forms of social media. The commitment is 2 days/week, in-office. NO REMOTE INTERNSHIPS at this time. Ideal candidate will be willing to put in at least two days or approx 12-16 or so hours/week. Working candidates will find the company is flexible about how the hours will be worked.
Location: 207 W 106th Street, Ste 1D, NYC 10025 (blocks from Columbia University on the upper west side.

Payment: School credit eligible, local travel stipend negotiable.
