Title: Royalty & Accounting Assistant at Literary Agency
Description: Job Description
InkWell Management is looking for a full-time assistant for our royalty and accounting department. The assistant will aid our royalty and accounting associate with the processing of incoming and outgoing payments. Processing includes uploading financial backup for incoming payment records, royalty statement review and delivery to clients, outgoing payment processing, and database updates. Additionally, the assistant will follow up on unpaid or underpaid royalties with publishers, track and enter client expense data, and assist the Business Manager with bookkeeping, vendor orders and file management.

This will be an opportunity to interact with agents and authors in a collaborative environment, while learning about the publishing business.

Requirements: Job Qualifications
Prior experience with publishing royalties is not required, as training will be provided. Prior experience with Microsoft Office - and Excel in particular - is helpful. Quickbooks experience is a plus.
Applicants must be articulate, enthusiastic, and hold a high level of interest in accounting within the publishing field. Attention to detail is a key requirement, as is the motivation to learn about and understand royalty statements. The ideal assistant enjoys working with numbers and analyzing data.
The position requires someone who is very systematic, organized and able to prioritize and see a task to completion without being distracted. The associate must be able to work with and without direct supervision.
