Requirements: Position Description:

The AdPromo Design Assistant will execute a variety of design and administrative tasks under the supervision of the Assistant Creative Director of AdPromo, in addition to assisting the department with the creation and production of sales material, promotional material, and advertising collateral for Tom Doherty and Associates and each of its imprints: Tor, Forge, Tor Teen, Starscape, and Tor.com. This position works closely with the Assistant Creative Director and Designer to ensure the advertising and promotion strategies of TDA are executed according to plan.


Major Responsibilities:

• Design materials including ads, various sales and promotional sheets, promotional materials, social media content graphics, including print and digital materials
• Assist in routing, trafficking, and final delivery of advertising and promotion projects
• Be the liaison to other departments such as Cover Art, Marketing, Production, to request and provide material as needed
• Package final files using the Adobe Creative Suite
• Adapt imagery for print and web formats
• Ensure complete information is provided for all project launches
• Assist in researching vendors, getting quotes, and creating select promotional materials on an as needed basis
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Art Director or Department Head

Required Skills / Knowledge:

• Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
• Proficient with Mac OS
• Knowledge of Google G Suite
• Knowledge of Adobe After Effects and Premiere a plus
• Coding or HTML knowledge a plus
• Detail oriented and organized with the ability to manage multiple workflows in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Ability to take creative direction and implement changes throughout the approval process

Experience Needed:

• Internship or related experience a plus

Educational Background Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in art/design or equivalent experience preferred
