Job Description:
Interns generally focus on Publicity, but as we are a small office, there is opportunity to learn about and assist with work in the areas of Production and Operations as well. In your cover letter, please indicate your area(s) of interest, and we will do our best to assign you projects that align with your own goals for what you want to learn.

Interns work closely with our Publicity and Marketing directors, who oversee publicity mailings, media coverage, promotional materials, and our online presence via our website and social media.

You may also be asked to assist our Production department, which coordinates with our authors, designers, editors, printers, and distributor to guide books and e-books from manuscript to finished product.

Interns are also expected to help with day-to-day office tasks, like answering the phone, manning the reception desk, routine paperwork, and boxing and unboxing books. Ideal candidates will have confident written and oral communication skills, meticulous editorial and organizational abilities, and, of course, a strong interest in book publishing.

We consider applications on a rolling basis. Start/end dates are flexible, though we do ask for a minimum three-month commitment. We are currently seeking interns for the Spring semester of 2018, roughly January through May or June. The position could potentially be full-time or part-time, depending on the candidate’s schedule and our team’s needs. Our office is located near Union Square. Please include your desired start date and schedule in your cover letter.
