Company Name: W. W. NORTON & COMPANY
Description: W. W. Norton’s College Publishing Department is seeking an intern to assist with sales and marketing tasks.

The College Sales intern will have the chance to meet senior management from various departments during intern program informational lunches, will have the opportunity to learn about various entry-level positions at Norton, and will become familiar with many of Norton’s College titles.

Responsibilities in this internship vary, but will include data entry, researching market data, creating marketing materials, preparing materials for academic conferences and marketing campaigns, and performing basic office tasks like filing and copying. While the College Sales intern will have various duties and projects, they will also be challenged to look at their responsibilities with an analytical eye, notice problems and offer solutions, and present potential project ideas.
Length of Internship: 3 months, 20 hours per week
Requirements: Candidates should be interested in academic publishing and publishing sales. Knowledge of Microsoft Office is necessary. The ideal candidate will have strong research skills and will be detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working with minimal supervision.

Specific work hours are flexible, but interns usually work 3 or 4 days per week for a total of 20 hours over a 3-month period. College seniors, graduate students, and recent graduates preferred.

Payment: $13/hour
